Assalamualaikum and Salam Sejahtera,
Once again, I would like to welcome everyone, students, academicians, and industry players to the 2016 Electrical Engineering Student Showcase (EESS2016) that is to be held on 24th May 2016 at the Dewan Sultan Iskandar, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
Just like in the previous year, EESS2016 serves as a platform for undergraduate students to showcase their final year projects in an exhibition style. Unlike the traditional way of evaluating the final year projects, EESS2016 provides the students more interaction to visitors and panels. In a way, this will help improving their communication skill, one of the essential talents which is very important for their career. EESS2016 consists of 13 tracks that cover areas in Electrical Power Engineering, Communication Engineering, Electronic & Computer Engineering, and Control & Mechathronic Engineering. EESS2016 will also showcase some of the research works done by selected research students at Masters and PhD levels. While these works will be more on the theoretical aspects, the idea is to exhibit the progress and the capability of electrical engineering students in putting their thinking skills at a higher level.
Since its inception, this year EESS continues to be improved. With budget constraints, the event is organized for one full day. Nevertheless, prizes and awards will still be given to selected projects. Panels from both the academics and industries will evaluate these projects. It is hoped that the participation from industries will continue to nurture positive collaboration and cooperation between the Faculty and the industries. Feedback from industries will certainly help to improve the quality of graduates produced by the university.
Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to all sponsors and industrial panels for their contributions in making EESS2016 a successful event. Not to forget, I would also like to thank all the organizing committee members who have relentless work hard for this event, to the management of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering whose support cannot be described by words, and to all staff who have contributed directly and indirectly. For students, I wish you all the best and may this EESS 2016 be a cherishable moment in your campus life. Welcome to the Electrical Engineering Student Showcase 2016.
